How to Play Hole #17 on the MacKenzie Course at Haggin Oaks

Mike Woods returns to give advice on how to tackle the course’s penultimate hole.

Hole #17 on the MacKenzie Course a challenging par 5 that stands as one final obstacle between you and a great round of golf. Despite seeming straightforward, #17 has a few elements that most golfers often overlook. Watch the video below to see how Mike Woods would tackle this difficult hole.

A tee shot played to the left center of the fairway is best. Tee up on the far left side of the tee box to avoid the eucalyptus tree on the right. Try to land your second shot within 100 yards of the hole to set up an easy approach shot, but watch out for the bunker in front of the green. From there, just land the approach and you should have a good chance at a birdie.
