LEARN TO PLAY GOLF

This holistic player performance program caters to athletes who want to enjoy the game, play pain-free and lower their handicap. Group training creates a fun and engaging learning environment where Play to Improve athletes can push themselves with other players that have similar golfing goals. Each training session will consist of training in our five performance pillars and focus on multiple disciplines.


This holistic player performance program caters to athletes who are mid-range handicappers looking to get into the single digits. Group training creates a fun and competitive learning environment where Play to Compete athletes can enjoy some friendly competition with other golfers! Each training session will consist of training in our five performance pillars and focus on multiple disciplines.


This program is all about seeing improvement in a fun, social environment while creating consistency in your practice habits by attending on a regular basis. Coaches Ed and Joe utilize their many years of experience to create weekly topics to help you understand how you can enjoy the game more while lowering your scores.


One of the fastest-growing groups at the facility organized by Linda Reid, our Women’s Golf Ambassador. The 9 hole leagues meet year-round Wednesday and Friday mornings and Thursday evenings (April – Sept). Women of all skill levels are welcome and new(er) golfers are paired with players of similar ability with one of the volunteer mentors who will teach them all the nuances of the game. “Seasoned” players are welcome as well. These groups are very welcoming, encouraging, and just FUN. You’ll meet lots of new golfing friends here.


CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Meet with one of our many established golf professionals to schedule a time for a game assessment session at so you can review your goals for your golf game. Whether you’d like to spend 30 minutes, an hour or an extended amount of time on the course, we have a plan for you!
Although there are many options in terms of group learning lessons and private lessons, we also offer the ability to customize your own individual or group session. Whether it’s friends, co-workers, with a spouse or by yourself 
 our team has the ability to map out a specific program to fit your needs with scheduling, coaching or growth opportunities.

How do I find other golfers to play with?

For Women

Wednesday Morning Women’s Play Group: Designed for serious fun 
 tee times on Arcade Creek start at 9:00 and most gather in the Grille after golf for lunch. Designed for all levels of ability. Mentors are also available to help golfers learn course management, protocol, and more.

Thursday After Work Women’s Play Group: This evening league runs from April through September and is so popular that 9-holes are played on both Arcade Creek Golf Courses as well as the front 9 on the MacKenzie Golf Course. Tee times start as early as 5 pm. After golf, stay and socialize in MacKenzie’s Sports Bar and Grille. All levels of golfers are welcome.

Fun Friday Golf! For Women: This women’s playgroup is geared for those with flexible schedules – start the weekend off RIGHT on Friday morning! Tee times start at 9:00 on the Arcade Creek Golf Course. Mentors available for those wanting a bit of golf education while playing 9 holes. All level of golfers welcome
 walkers and riders.

The Haggin Oaks Business Women’s Golf Club: Welcomes all new members. The club plays Sundays year-round, two times a month. Members can sign up to play with a friend, or the tournament chairman can pair you up. Major and minor tournaments are conducted throughout the year.

The Haggin Oaks Niners: Welcomes new members who love golf and want to play on a somewhat regular basis. The Niners play every Thursday year-round, but members don’t need to play every week. Sign-ups are two weeks in advance for a tee-time for the Thursday you want to play. Members walk or take a cart and the club will find a partner for you or you can sign up with a friend. We have tournaments and twice-a-year celebratory luncheons. Our membership is growing and you will definitely find “golf-buddies” by becoming a Niner. New members also receive a free round of golf, just for joining!

For Everyone

Tuesday Play Group: Open to all golfers play 18 holes of golf on the MacKenzie Golf Course on Tuesday mornings. This group is perfect for golfers looking for new golf friends. Many of the weeks include a complimentary clinic, skills challenge, or beat the pro. Mike Woods, PGA Director of Golf at Haggin Oaks, is happy to host this group.

River City Golf Club: It is a fun nine-hole league consisting of men and women of all ages and abilities. Play is on Monday evenings starting at 5:00 pm. The 20 week season begins in April and goes through September. We use our own handicap system, with a combination of stroke and match play.

Sacramento Golf Club: It is a fun golf club that offers weekday and weekend events, an official USGA handicap, NCGA membership/benefits, and much more.  Whether you’re interested in competition, the social benefits of meeting other golfers, or just enjoying the courses and amenities the Haggin Oaks complex has to offer, the Sacramento Golf Club provides these opportunities to its members.
