VACAVILLE, CA, — The Northern California PGA Foundation today announced that registration is open for the 12th Annual “The Langley: A Tribute to Legends Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament,” taking place August 12th and 13th, 2019 at Pebble Beach Resorts. The 2019 event, hosted by PGA Tour legend, Peter Jacobsen, will honor 2-time Major Champion, Mark O’Meara, as well as real estate magnate, philanthropist, and former San Francisco Giants owner, Bob Lurie. Interested participants and sponsors can register for the event at http://www.thelangley.org/.

Proceeds from The Langley support the Northern California PGA Foundation’s military pillar, PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. In collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Golf sessions are offered at NO cost to Veterans by Northern California PGA Professionals and are designed to enhance a Veteran’s physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Learning and playing the game of golf is a proven activity that has helped thousands of military Veterans assimilate back into their community through the social interaction the game of golf provides.

“In 2019, The Langley looks to be our best event ever, as the great Peter Jacobsen helps us honor former Masters and Open Champion, Mark O’Meara, and Bob Lurie, who has given so much back to the Northern California community,” said Nancy Maul, Executive Director, Northern California PGA Foundation. “Most importantly, the players and sponsors who support The Langley help the Northern California PGA Foundation, under the direction of our PGA Professionals, to continue impacting the lives of military Veterans through the amazing PGA HOPE program.”

Maul adds, “Bringing amateurs together with PGA Professionals at the iconic Pebble Beach Resorts has made The Langley one of those annual events that not only continues to grow in prestige and popularity, but which has become the centerpiece of fundraising for our Foundation, year after year.”

“You can win golf tournaments, and that’s great. But if you can do something with winning tournaments and help other people – that is what has completed my life. When I lay my head down at night, I feel really good about that.”
