For golfers, the holy grail of golf movies is none other than the 1980 comedy film Caddyshack, directed by Harold Ramis and written by Brian Doyle-Murray, Harold Ramis and Douglas Kenney. It starred Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Cindy Morgan, Bill Murray- as well as great actor and star Michael O’Keefe who played the most famous silver screen caddy ever, Danny Noonan. The Haggin Oaks Golf Expo is bringing O’Keefe in for an exclusive Q&A session as well as an autograph and photo session on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 12 noon.
Michael O’Keefe has been an actor for over thirty years and has moved comfortably between numerous roles in film, TV and theater. In 1981, O’Keefe received a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Academy Awards and a Golden Globe nomination for his role as Ben Meechum in The Great Santini. Additional film credits include Ironweed, Ghosts of Mississippi, The Pledge and The Hot Chick. Television credits include recurring roles on Against the Law, Roseanne, Life’s Work, King & Maxwell and Homeland. He has appeared on Broadway four times and was the lead in the National Tour for “A Few Good Men.” O’Keefe is known for his versatility and has greatly enjoyed taking on new challenges.
