Golf Fore Health brings the joy of the game to players of all abilities through an adaptive and inclusive golf experience at Haggin Oaks.

It was another beautiful day on the course as the 2025 Golf Fore Health season wrapped up at Haggin Oaks with our annual “Hot Dog Scramble.” Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s made for a perfect finish to a great year of golf, smiles, and camaraderie.
A huge thank you goes out to Coach Ken Hurdle and his incredible A-Team of volunteers for all they continue to do in making this program so special. Their passion, dedication, and support help bring the game of golf to so many who might not otherwise have the opportunity to play.
What is Golf Fore Health?
Golf Fore Health, hosted by the Northern California Institute of Golf at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, is an adaptive golf program designed for individuals with physical, mental, or emotional challenges. The program creates a welcoming space where participants can experience the joy of golf while building confidence, skills, and community.
Golfers of all experience levels are welcome, from those picking up a club for the first time to longtime players returning to the game after life-changing events. Participants include individuals living with post-traumatic stress disorder, multiple sclerosis, or those recovering from a stroke or heart attack. To make the game accessible for everyone, the program offers four adaptive golf vehicles that allow all players to enjoy time on the course.
With an athlete-centered approach, coaches focus not only on swing techniques but also on the “human skills” of golf, patience, focus, and resilience. The result is a program that’s as much about healing and connection as it is about improving your game.
Golf Fore Health runs two nine-week sessions each year during April, May, June, September, and October, with most of the time spent out on the course enjoying the game together.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As this season comes to a close, we wish all of our participants a happy and healthy winter and look forward to seeing everyone again next spring. Planning for the 2026 sessions begins in February, and details will be shared by email once dates are confirmed.
