From July 14–20, the Toptracer Global Challenge returns, and this time, it’s bringing players to one of the most infamous holes in Open Championship history: the par-3 16th at Royal Portrush, also known as Calamity Corner. And the best part? You can take on the challenge right here at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range!
What Is the Toptracer Global Challenge?
The Global Challenge is a virtual “Closest to the Pin” competition available at Toptracer Range locations around the world. It’s a chance for golfers of all skill levels to compete on a global stage using Toptracer’s state-of-the-art shot-tracking technology.
During the week of the challenge, players will take aim at the virtual 16th hole at Royal Portrush—one of the toughest par 3s in major championship golf. With swirling winds, dramatic elevation, and no bailout left, it’s a test of nerves and accuracy.
But don’t worry, you’ll get unlimited attempts, and only your best shot counts toward your score.
How to Join the Challenge at Haggin Oaks
Participating is easy:
- Head to the Haggin Oaks Driving Range between July 14 and July 20.
- Use the Toptracer Range app to scan the QR code at your bay.
- Select “Global Challenge” from the game menu and get started.
- Hit as many shots as you like, your closest one is your official entry.
What You Could Win
The top finisher across all participating ranges worldwide will win a signed 153rd Open Championship pin flag, a unique collectible that celebrates golf’s oldest major.
For players in the UK and Ireland, additional prizes are available, including entries into a draw for 2026 U.S. Open tickets for anyone who lands a shot within 10 feet. (U.S. players aren’t eligible for this specific bonus, but the global title is still up for grabs!)
