The Hangout Opens at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range

The Hangout brings a new food truck experience to the Haggin Oaks Driving Range

On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Morton Golf opened a brand new food truck called The Hangout on the award-winning Haggin Oaks Driving Range. The Hangout will feature an entirely new and exciting menu of gourmet hamburgers and hot dogs, sandwiches, street tacos, appetizers, drinks and more.

Located at the entrance of the Haggin Oaks Driving Range, The Hangout is the perfect spot in the heart of Sacramento to sit back and relax with friends and golfing buddies, grab a few drinks and share some delectable dishes.

If you haven’t stopped by the driving range lately, then you need to check it out soon. The Hangout features a brand new patio complete with comfortable seating and fire pits. Combining food with fun, The Hangout is located right on the driving range. You can grab your clubs to hit a few balls – practice your golf game or compete for fun with friends. Or grab your putter and putt on the adjacent MacKenzie Putting Course. This 9-hole miniature golf course is free to play with the purchase of a bucket of balls on the driving range. Don’t have clubs? Don’t worry! Rent one club for $3 or 3 clubs for $5.

And how is the food? I can personally rave over several of the dishes, including one of my new personal favorites, the signature Hangout Burger. This 1/2 lb burger is overflowing with bacon jam, arugula, horseradish aioli, pork rinds and sharp cheddar cheese. During the early testing phase when the menu was still in the planning stages, The Hangout Burger was hands down the crowd favorite among the tasting “judges.”

And if you are bringing friends to the range, then I highly suggest sampling one of our new shareables. The Brisket Fries are a yummy combination of queso, BBQ brisket, and house pickled jalapeños all piled atop our sidewinder fries and drizzled with a cilantro-lime créme. You’ll want a fork when tackling this dish. Or, grab a serving of our Chicken Chorizo Nachos. Tortilla chips are topped with nacho cheese, chorizo, chicken, guacamole, pickled jalapeños and cilantro-lime créme.

According to Dave Ohlsen, Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at Haggin Oaks, “The Hangout is the place to come for great food and to hang out with friends and family.”

The Hangout is located at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range at 3645 Fulton Avenue in Sacramento, CA.
