Here in Sacramento, we’ve always known that country music superstar, Jack Ingram, has a big heart! He comes out every May to host our Golf & Guitars Charity Golf Tornament and Concert and has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Morton Golf Foundation and other local children’s charities.
Recently, Jack boarded a flight on Southwest Airlines between Austin and Dallas as part of the Boot Campaign where he performed an in-flight concert for a deserving military family. The concert was to honor Jeremy Smith and his fiancee and Jeremy’s service to our country. The surprise continued once the flight landed when Jeremy and his fiancee were presented with the mortgage for their new home.
The Boot Campaign is a grassroots initiative started by five women from Texas known as the Boot Girls. The campaign provides an easy and tangible way for Americans to show appreciation for troops (both past and present), cultivate awareness of the challenges they face upon return and raise funds which are granted to military programs meeting these physical and emotional needs.
