Sacramento, CA – July 4, 2025 – The 89th Sacramento City Junior Golf Championship/Peggy Dodds Memorial concluded this week at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, with junior golfers ages 7–18 competing across two days, July 2–3. Players in the 12–18 age divisions competed on the championship-level Alister MacKenzie Course.

Luke Harrison of Sacramento claimed the Overall Boys Champion title (ages 16–18/14–15) with rounds of 69-70 for a 139 total.
In the Boys 16–18 Division, a card-off decided the winner among two players who finished at 140. Chase Yukawa of Roseville took first with a 73-67, edging out Giacomo Gaggero of Meadow Vista (71-69) in second, and Branden Cales of Roseville (69-72-141) in third.
Serene Kim of Granite Bay earned the Overall Girls Champion title (ages 16–18/14–15) with a two-day total of 71-72—143. In the Girls 16–18 Division, Sophia Lee of Fairfield took first with a 70-74—144, followed by Erica Villegas of Suisun Bay (72-73—145) in second, and Melia Gustavson of Meadow Vista in third with a 146 in a 3-way card-off.
Tournament Chair Steve Yates described the championship as a meaningful tradition: “This event continues to honor Peggy Dodds, who began running junior tournaments in 1983 and served on the Sacramento Golf Council for 34 years. Her legacy lives on through the outstanding young players we saw this week.”
