2019 Sacramento City Putting Championship Winners!

Every year at the Haggin Oaks Golf Expo, among many other activities, Haggin Oaks hosts the Sacramento City Putting Championships where people from throughout the county come out to compete to win real local titles.

There are three divisions, one for youth, one for women and one for men organized and watched over by the Sacramento Golf Council to see who is the best putter of them all!

The Sacramento City Putting Championship is organized as tournaments where competitors start out in groups of two playing each other until they have putted 18 holes. Whoever has the lowest score at the end gets to move on to the next round where they follow this same process until there are only 2 people left, at which point they battle it out for the title of ‘Sacramento City Putting Champion!” The winner gets their name engraved on an official trophy to be recognized for years to come.

This Year’s Winners for Each Division Were:

Youth: Cassie Cross

Cassie Cross is a local teenager out of Sacramento. He was the winner of the youth putting championship for the second year in a row, beating his opponent by two putts!

Men: Mike Harrop

For the men, we had a new winner this year! Mike Harrop won the men’s division putting championship, winning his first Sacramento City Putting Championship!

Women: Vicki Philpott

Vicki Philpott came out victorious for the women’s division putting championship where she won by only one point as well. This was also Vicki’s second year in a row winning the championship title.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who competed in the Sacramento City Putting Championships! We look forward to having you back next year.
