A huge thank you goes out to the incredible team from the River City Waterway Alliance, whose recent volunteer effort made a major impact on our local environment.
Over the past several months, this dedicated group of 15 volunteers has worked tirelessly to clean up seven miles of Arcade Creek—stretching east of the Haggin Oaks property. Their mission to restore Sacramento’s waterways brought them to Haggin Oaks Golf Complex this week, where they spent Monday and Tuesday clearing debris from the creek as it runs through the golf course.
The results are nothing short of amazing. The team removed an astonishing variety of waste, including:
- Tires and rims
- Couches and furniture
- Sewing Machines
- Carpet, metal, sinks, and wood
- Plastic, clothing, cardboard
- And approximately 60 large bags of trash
Thanks for their efforts, Arcade Creek is now completely clean and far healthier for both wildlife and the community.
Their work not only beautifies our property but also supports a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Sacramento. On behalf of everyone at Haggin Oaks, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the River City Waterway Alliance for their passion, hard work, and commitment to protecting our local environment.
Together, we’re making our world a cleaner and healthier place, one creek at a time.
