Meet Alex Cooper, our Lead Junior Golf Coach

It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes just the right person to teach a child golf. Meet Alex Cooper, one of our instructors for our Northern California Institute of Golf and Junior PGA programs!

Alex grew up in a small town outside of Leicester, England and started playing golf at the age of 12. He later moved to the US and graduated from Sacramento State with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Alex is a PGA Associate and has been involved with the junior programs at Haggin Oaks, Bing Maloney and William Land Park for the past two years.

Alex’s goal as an instructor is to simplify the game and make it fun, while also making sure each person feels that they are valued and heard. Alex loves helping children discover the game of golf and finding ways for them to have fun while doing so. To him, nothing is more rewarding than seeing the smile on their faces when they hit their first ball sky-high.

Alex has several Junior PGA summer camps starting June 7th. These half-day camps are designed to inspire new golfers and guide beginner golfers to the next level. Campers learn and hone their skills with a strong emphasis placed on the fundamentals of golf, all while having fun! Camps alternate between William Land and Bing Maloney golf courses.
