Titleist Releases Pro V1 Left Dot Golf Balls in Limited Run

Titleist has officially announced the return of its Pro V1 Left Dot (•Pro V1) golf ball — a lower-flying, lower-spinning version of the Pro V1 that has already won over 30 PGA TOUR titles, including two major championships. Beginning September 23, golfers will be able to purchase the Pro V1 Left Dot in limited quantities through Titleist.com and select online retailers in the U.S. and Canada.

What Makes the Pro V1 Left Dot Unique?

Originally created as a Custom Performance Option (CPO) for PGA TOUR players, the Pro V1 Left Dot was designed for golfers who loved the soft feel of the Pro V1 but wanted a ball that launched lower and spun less in the long game.

This model features:

  • Lower flight and spin than the standard Pro V1
  • Comparable soft feel to the Pro V1
  • Drop-and-Stop™ short game control around the greens
  • High Gradient Core Technology for optimized distance and consistency

Influence on Modern Titleist Golf Balls

The Pro V1 Left Dot played a major role in the development of Titleist’s current Pro V1 and Pro V1x models, both of which now feature High Gradient Core Technology first pioneered in Left Dot. This innovation steepens the “spin slope,” reducing full-swing spin while preserving short-game control.

Since its introduction, Left Dot has been a favorite among tour players with unique launch conditions, accounting for 6% of Titleist golf ball usage on the PGA TOUR in 2025.

Tour-Proven Success

The Left Dot has already built an impressive résumé:

  • Major wins: 2016 Open Championship and 2018 Masters
  • PGA TOUR victories: More than 30 titles, including five by Tony Finau since 2021
  • Other champions: Tom Hoge (2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am), Justin Rose (2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am), and Jake Knapp (2024 Mexico Open)

Tony Finau praised its reliability, saying:

“I can count on the golf ball in crosswinds, into the wind, downwind. I know how far the golf ball is going to go.”

Jake Knapp added:

“[Pro V1 Left Dot] fits my game the best because I can hit it high if I need to, flight it down if I need to… it reacts just the way I need it to.”

Who Should Play Pro V1 Left Dot?

The Left Dot is best suited for golfers seeking:

  • A lower, more penetrating ball flight
  • Reduced long-game spin
  • Soft feel without sacrificing distance
  • Greenside precision with Drop-and-Stop control

While designed with tour players in mind, a select group of amateurs may also benefit from its unique flight and spin profile.
