Please meet Chris Bitticks, PGA Golf Professional at Haggin Oaks

Chris Bitticks, PGA Golf Professional has worked at Morton Golf for the past 6 years.

Before coming to Morton Golf Chris was the Head Pro at Tracy Country Club.

Chris got involved in golf at the age of nine when his brother played golf and took Chris along. By the age of twelve, Chris was on his own playing golf and taking his first formal lessons at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Redwood City where he grew up.

At that age, Chris was also playing baseball but decided that golf was the sport for him.

Tom Morton has been quoted as saying, “Chris is one of the most Professional mentors to the game of golf that I have encountered. At a quality level Chris is a leader to everyone he contacts. When he is at Haggin Oaks he spends part of his time selling equipment in the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop and continues daily to be a mentor and leader to everyone he meets.”

In Chris’s life he has not only been a PGA Golf Professional but an Owner, staff member, and Manager in all capacities throughout the game of golf.

Early in Chris’s career he took his first merchandising Seminar in 1970 taught by Tom LoPresti. Tom LoPresti was the Original Head Golf Pro at Haggin Oaks from 1932 – 1990 when Mr. LoPresti retired. Later in Chris’s golf career, he is back at Haggin Oaks with Ken Morton, Sr as his mentor who is still guiding and encouraging him along the way.

Throughout Chris’s golf career he has taught, coached, sold golf equipment, and every other job in the business but his real love will always be teaching kids.

Chris’s biggest Claim to Fame in his lifetime is that he won the NCPGA San Joaquin Valley Stroke Play Championship in 2002, 2015, and 2023. This is impressive to think that his playing ability in golf stayed at the highest level for over 3 decades.

This summer, Chris will be teaching a few of the morning Junior camps where he will aspire more junior golfers to play this wonderful game for a lifetime.
