A Letter from the President of The Morton Golf Foundation

Today’s article is brought to us from Tom Morton, President of Morton Golf Foundation.

The Morton Golf Foundation, now in its fourth year, has a vision to enrich the lives of the less fortunate through the great game of golf. Our Mission is to provide funds to programs offering a healthy outdoor recreational environment that stresses the building of lasting personal relationships while seamlessly instilling life’s core values for the youth, disabled and underserved communities of Sacramento. As you read through our third annual report for 2012 we are very excited about the progress we have made and the direction we are headed in the future.

In four years, our Board of Directors and Committee Members comprised of very inspirational and charitable individuals that volunteer their time, have granted over $200,000.00 to diverse and extremely worthwhile programs that are truly improving lives. Another important fact of the Morton Golf Foundation is that nearly 100% of the funds raised go back directly to programs, as there are no paid employees. This is very important to our foundation and we are proud to say we continue to achieve this goal.

As we move forward into 2013 there are many things to be excited about as our outreach, grants and scholarships to the local underserved and disabled community grows. Whether it is to our benefactors that help people with special needs, those that are reaching less privileged children through after school programs, rehabilitating stroke survivors or giving scholarships to further educational opportunities of our community’s youth, we can be proud of the impact that is being made.

If you love the game of golf as well as enriching lives, please help spread the word about the impact the Morton Golf Foundation is having on our community. Any help you are able to give to further these efforts is greatly appreciated.
