A Putting Drill That Will Lower Your Handicap

Here’s this week’s tip to help you improve your game. Leave a comment telling us if this drill works for you and stay tuned for next week’s game improvement tip!

TARGET DRILL
This putting drill is similar to darts, only the target is on the floor. Cut out three circles from paper. The smallest one should be about the size of an actual golf hole, the second about 2 to 3 times larger, and the third about 2 to 3 times larger than the second. Stack the three circles on the floor to create a target, and assign points for each circle. The center circle is worth 10 points, the middle circle is 5, and the outer most ring is 2 points. Take 10 putts and tally your score. This is a fun drill, because it is easy to track your progress. A score of 70 – 90 is excellent!
Quick tip: Write your score on the calendar to keep track of your progress over time.

Putting drills are something you can practice just about anywhere, because you don’t need a lot of room. You basically just need a smooth surface with a true roll.  Today’s drill will improve your confidence on the green.
