ESPN 1320’s Frank LaRosa on FootJoy’s DNA Shoe

Golf to Go’s Frank LaRosa interviews Brian Greene from FootJoy about their newest innovation, FootJoy’s DNA.

“The DNA is one of the most popular shoes we’ve ever released, from tour players to the pro shop level it’s had a lot of momentum.” says, Brian Greene. FootJoy’s DNA is a new concept for the #1 shoe company in the world of golf. It’s a lightweight, low-profile & flexible shoe that works with the foot.

“The design of the shoe really started from the ground up,” states Brian Green, “Everything on the shoe from the outsole to the tongue design is performance based, keeping the golfer in mind.”  The TPU outsole  is new for the DNA, which provides forefoot flexibility. The placement of the cleats have been moved to the edge of the shoe, which allows maximum stability on your swing. The SnugFit tongue gives great feel, ventilation & comfort over the top of the foot, and the 3D foam collar molds to your foot, locking your ankle in place, eliminating heel movement which could lead to discomfort and reduced power during your swing.

According to Brian,”This shoe really hits it as far as looks go, it’s a very sporty, athletic shoe, but not too far away in what the golfer likes in style. The designers have the challenge of mixing the golf look with a more fashion forward aesthetic.” The DNA comes in a wide variety of colors for Men’s and Women’s  including the standard black and white. FootJoy has added some more fashionable colors in this design as well, including the top selling Navy for men.

The DNA comfortable from the First Tee to the 18th Green, changing the way golf shoes are made.
