Haggin Oaks Selected to Golf Digest’s 2019-20 America’s 100 Best Clubfitters

The Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, located in Sacramento, CA, is widely regarded as a leader in the golf industry. It is a prestigious honor for Haggin Oaks to be named one of Golf Digest’s 2019-20 America’s 100 Best Clubfitters.

Mike Stachura, Senior Editor-Equipment for Golf Digest commented, “At Golf Digest, we believe custom fitting is the most important tool to optimizing a golfer’s potential, and today more than ever it stands as the one area where the greatest improvement can occur. That improvement only happens with the expertise and guidance provided by a facility like yours.”

Haggin Oaks has made a huge commitment in clubfitting and offers custom fitting inside the Player Performance Studio. The Player Performance Studio is a three-bay indoor studio with sixteen-foot high doors that open onto the Haggin Oaks’ range, voted one of Golf Range Magazine‘s Top 100 Driving Ranges. The clubfitters at Haggin Oaks utilize the same technology that major golf manufacturers use to fit the world’s greatest players in their test centers, including TrackMan Launch Monitors and a S.A.M. PuttLab.

Even with all the latest technology, ball flight is still at the heart and soul of golf equipment fitting. Because golfers in the Studio can hit balls indoors to target greens outdoors, they can see and feel how the ball reacts just as if they were on the golf course. The reason leading manufacturers have designed and built their own test centers is because they know from years of experience that ball flight and feel are the confidence builders to making good golfers better golfers. There is no comparison to hitting into a net and the driving range at Haggin Oaks offers a distinct advantage for clubfitting.

According to Tom Morton, PGA Master Professional and Director of Coaching & Development at Haggin Oaks, “This recognition from Golf Digest is a great honor… We view club fitting as part of the whole picture when it comes to a golfers performance and enjoyment of the game. Due to this belief we take a lot of time and energy in training our team both on the importance of seeing ball flight but in the use of technology in a fitting as well. This recognition gives us great pride in knowing we are doing what is right for our customers.”

Typically purchasing a new set of irons and getting a custom fitting, what does the fitting cost in addition to the clubs? This would be for a below average player.
