Here’s a story you don’t see everyday. The Texas-Arlington UTA/Waterchase Invitational had to be canceled on Tuesday when an estimated 70,000 bees took over the 18th green.
The trouble started when a tree limb fell and exposed a huge beehive. Within minutes, thousands of bees were swarming the Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Initially, tournament officials suspended play until a beekeeper could be called in. The beekeeper recommended that the tournament be canceled.
A few players were stung, but nobody was seriously injured.
