Keep things as simple and fun as possible
Will grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia and began playing golf when he was 5 or 6 years old. Will went to school at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina where he graduated cum laude in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Professional Golf Management (PGM). Besides playing a lot of golf, he was a Founding Father of the Pi Mu chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity on campus, a member of four vocal groups, and he performed five shows with the Methodist Theatre. In regard to golf experiences, Will has worked at a golf course since he was twelve years old.
Once starting the PGM program with Methodist, he worked summer internships each year. During his freshmen year he worked under Kelly Childs, the president of the Carolinas Section of the PGA. In his sophomore year, he worked junior golf camps at Independence Golf Club in Midlothian, Virginia and in his junior year he was in Sacramento, California working at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.
It was at Haggin Oaks where he gained a lot of experience doing custom club fittings and teaching beginner and intermediate golf clinics, as well as a weekly ladies clinic. Finally, this most recent summer, Will worked in Chicago at the Old Elm Club. Upon graduation from college, Will accepted the First Assistant Professional position at Riomar Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida. There he has spent time teaching golfers of all skill levels as well as teaching ladies clinics. Will prefers to teach students using knowledge of the golf swing with a little bit of humor mixed in. His belief is that sometimes this game can have too much information and can be overwhelming. His goal is to keep things as simple and fun as possible.
