Gwen Hare relocated from the east coast in 2003 to join the golf industry in 2005. She started working at Teal Bend as a part-time accountant, working her way up to Regional Tournament Sales for Teal Bend, Turkey Creek, and Empire Ranch.
In 2010 Gwen joined El Macero C.C. as an Assistant Golf Professional and was introduced to teaching clinics and junior programs to the members. While at El Macero C.C., Gwen developed a niche for teaching women who are new to the game, with her focus on developing the student’s fundamentals while always incorporating a fun and light atmosphere. In 2015 she was offered an opportunity to manage a golf course in Eureka, CA and decided to explore a different option. However, she quickly realized her talents and enthusiasm were geared more toward teaching than management and came back to Sacramento.
Gwen’s approach to teaching is simple: teach her students the fundamentals so they clearly understand how to achieve their goal of hitting their putt, chip or pitch shot close to the hole. She wants every student to walk away from their lesson feeling they have learned something valuable and improved their golf experience in a light and non-intimidating atmosphere.
