Dave answers a question left in the comments section on his trip to the 2011 Masters Tournament.

“Some of the players are wearing red lapel/hat pins. What does it signify?”~Anonymous

Although Dave isn’t 100% sure, he thinks that they are 75th anniversary pins.  There’s an official pin every year. In 1986 the badge was all red so this pin is celebrating 25 years ago when Nicklaus won the Masters which was also the 50th playing of the tournament.  The pin looks like a mini 1986 series badge.” Here is a picture of the 1986 series badge.

I followed Freddy Couples around all morning and watched him shoot 68.  Freddy is Freddy and I wondered what was going to top that.  We followed Phil for awhile and he just didn’t have the magic he usually does.  Then we latched onto the Jason Day show 64.  Finally Tiger who was the second to last group  today started to make some birdies and the atmosphere’s electricity went up a bunch.  You could tell he was feeling it as each shot got better than the last. After Tiger made birdie on 18, I headed back to camp to see the highlights and watch the replay so I could see every shot.  We also BBQ’d and had some beers.  Incredible day again.- Dave

3:50p – The golf was incredible today.  We hung out at Amen Corner this afternoon and spent the morning following some of our favorite players.  I’m back at camp getting ready to go out to dinner in Augusta with our friend Roger Taylor.  The best shot I saw today was hit by Mark Wilson into 13, the pin was cut way right and the safe play is 40 feet left hope the slope takes the ball towards the hole. Wilson hit a little draw ball pretty close very sweet shot. ~Dave

12:30p- Dave has just sent me a few more pictures that give a snapshot of his day. I wanted to get them posted in order to share his experiences with you!  If you have a question, please leave a comment and we’ll try to get in touch with Dave.

The crowds have started to pick up at the Masters today.  There are many more people surrounding the scoreboard today than the first day that Dave sent us a picture.

The grounds at Augusta are magnificent.  Have any of our readers ever gone to the tournament before?

Dave must be hungry if he is sending us a picture back of the menu boards!  From a marketing standpoint, these look pretty outstanding in my opinion! ~Jen

Here’s Dave’s badge for the day!

The Players were concentrating on the short game today, getting a feel for how the ball reacted on the greens.

Another shot of the players working on their game.

Augusta National is simply stunning!

The wind was up today so a lot of players practiced their pitching.  Here is a shot of Tim Clark.

Ernie Els practicing on the putting green under the guidance of his coach.

Berkmans Road- Rae’s Creek Campground… Dave’s place to chill during his Augusta adventure.

Even the water towers here in Augusta, Georgia, are proud of Augusta National!

I think this photo says it all!
