Stephanie Robinson
Apprentice Professional

Stephanie Robinson grew up in Oroville, CA where her parents introduced the game of golf to her when she was 5 years old. Her family owned and operated Robinson’s Driving Range in Oroville from 2001 to 2005. She grew up playing golf competitively at Table Mountain Golf Course and was heavily involved with the junior program at the town course. During this time, she was influenced in the game by her local golf professional, Ron Anderson, who helped her refine her game and piqued Stephanie’s interest about becoming a golf professional someday. “Both Ron and Paul Mares taught me that the game was something very special, says Stephanie. It wasn’t about hitting every shot perfect, but more about the learning process of understanding the importance of basics like grip, stance and tempo. They’re core teaching skills that I carry with me today.” Stephanie went to high school at Las Plumas High School where she played competitively on the boys team. As a junior golfer, she competed in local junior championships around her area. Stephanie attended college at Butte Junior College and continued honing her game throughout her college career. She finished 11th in the Junior College State Champioships in 2004. Before leaving college, Stephanie went to work at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, moving her way up through the company quickly with roles as cashier, lesson office manager, apparel salesperson, and club-fitter, ultimately arriving at the role as golf professional. “Stephanie has been such an outstanding asset to our company at every level that she has been at,” says Ken Morton, Jr, Director of Retail & Marketing for Haggin Oaks. “Her ability to connect with each customer that she comes into contact with  makes her extremely popular with our customers and her students.”

As for a teaching methodology, Stephanie aims to keep things simple for the customer. “First, we need to make the game fun. Secondly, we can work on the same key fundamentals that were ingrained on me as a young girl from my golf professional. Grip, stance, tempo first, then we can get a more detailed analysis from there. I want to find everyone’s individual swing and improve it from there.”

Since turning professional, Stephanie has been through clubfitting certification by several different golf companies including Titleist, TaylorMade, Ping & Callaway. She has also been certified on both the TrackMan Doppler Launch Monitor System as well as the Vector Pro Launch Monitor System in the new Players Performance Clubfitting Studio. She is involved extensively in the Haggin Oaks Intro-To-Golf classes, is involved in with The First Tee of Greater Sacramento, and participated in the NCPGA’s Play Golf America Day. She is currently working through the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional program and plans to finish the PGA program also. She is on staff with the Adams Golf Company and is currently engaged to be married to her beau, David.
