Adult Golf Programs and Rates

Golf is more than a game, it is about having fun, making friends, exercise, being in a healthy outdoor environment and building lifelong relationships with others. The City of Sacramento Golf Courses provide a wide variety of instruction programs and opportunities for ADULT GOLFERS.

The Adult Group Lesson Programs are:

Step 1:  New 2 Golf Class – $39.95 per student

This New2Golf Class is designed to introduce brand new golfers to the culture, skills and fun of golf.  Golf can be an intimidating sport so the goals of this program are to introduce new golfers to the facility, etiquette, rules, how to book starting times, how to play golf, how to select the right golf equipment, as well as instruction on simple, basic fundamentals.  This instruction will include: putting, chipping and the full swing.

Time:  2 – 90 minute sessions (3 hours of total instruction)
Ratio: 12 students to 1 instructor

Step 2:  Get Golf Ready Class- $99.95 per student

Golf is all about having fun. This class is geared around having fun while providing more one on one time with the golf coach for a deeper understanding of the short game and golf swing as well as how to prepare to play on the golf course.  Beginning golfers, infrequent golfers and former golfers are encouraged to be a part of this experience.

Time:  5 – 60 minute sessions (5 hours of total instruction)
Ratio: 8 students to 1 instructors

Step 3:  Get Course Ready Class- $99.95 per student

This class is geared toward the golfer who has taken Get Golf Ready or who has some coaching experience. Get Course Ready focuses primarily on playing the course. Each session will focus on-course situations.

Time:  4 – 60 minute sessions
Ratio: 8 students to 1 coaches

Step 3:  Get Game Ready Class – $99.95 per student

This class is geared toward the golfer who has taken Get Course Ready or has on-course experience. Classes focus on golfs 3 essential skill sets which include driving, wedging and putting. Participants will understand ball control and how to transfer practice results to the course.

Time:  4 – 60 minute sessions
Ratio: 8 students to 1 coaches

Step 4: Get Course Comfortable – $99.95

This class is geared toward getting more comfortable with navigating the golf facility, course management, but most importantly to have fun with friends and family! Golfers looking to feel more comfortable playing on the course and beginning to intermediate golfers looking to lower their scores are encouraged to participate in this class. Class will take place on the Arcade Creek Golf Course.

Time: 4 – 60 minutes sessions
Ratio: 8 students to 1 coaches

Steps 4 & 5:  Practice Makes Perfect Class – $79.95 Summer Session / Fall or Winter Sessions, or $15 Drop In/Class

Time to put into use your fundamentals and have fun with other golfers while continuing to grow your own game through instruction and supervised practice.  This class allows access to come to any number of the sessions to build lasting relationships with other people that love the game of golf while at the same time becoming more comfortable with all aspects of the game including putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, full swing and on course play.

Time: Class is held every week on Wednesday from 9:00am – 10:30am, Friday and Saturdays from 10:00am – 11:30am

Steps 4 & 5:  “It’s OK to Play!” Beginner Playing League – $69.95 per student

This is a fun, weekly beginner playing league that promotes learning on the golf course in a stress free environment.  There will be a coach rotating through the groups to help with pace of play and all the ins and outs of playing the game on the actual course. Price includes an 6-week program (6 weeks of play).  Green fees for 9-hole rounds not included in price of program

Time:  Program is on Wednesdays from 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Step 6:  “Playing Makes Perfect” On Course Instruction – $89.95 per student

Playing Makes Perfect is an intermediate player program that takes place on-course. This program is focused on etiquette and pace of play, but mostly on taking the next leap of lowering your scores through learning to keep statistics, strategy and course management. The program will consist of two coaches, maximum of 8 participants and will run for 2 weeks. All 9-hole green fees will be included in the price as well as a small bucket of range balls and light snacks for after each round.

Time:  Program is on Wednesdays from 1:00pm – 3:00pm

The Sacramento Golf Club was founded in 1917 and has contributed immensely to the quality of public golf for close to 90 years. By joining the Sacramento Golf Club you will receive a USGA Ghin Handicap Card so you can play in tournaments and charity events, or experience matches with golfing friends.
