Every golfer scores better when they learn their capabilities
Kellen started golfing when he was two years old here at Haggin Oaks. Born and raised in Sacramento, he started at the range. He followed with Little Linkers and Junior Golf. In high school, he played three years varsity golf, two years varsity basketball and two years varsity cross-country as an El Camino Eagle. Kellen continued at American River College, playing golf for one year. His enthusiasm for golf and desire to teach what he calls a “game for life” has been encouraged and rewarded here at Haggin Oaks.
Tournament golf has made Kellen a tough competitor and has taught him how to approach a course. Kellen has played in over 40 amateur tournaments. He was the Haggin Oaks Club Champion in 2011. Kellen focuses on fundamentals, believing it starts with practice, practice, and more practice. Kellen believes that golf can be a game for enjoyment with family and friends but if you are competitive, he also knows how to take your game to the next level. Kellen’s calm approach to the game and tournament tried experience has prepared him as a coach to be patient and observing.
As a teacher, Kellen believes that the game of golf is for life. He starts with putting and builds on each person’s individual skills and aptitude for the game. Kellen believes that there is a golf game inside everyone that is waiting to be played. He partners with you to teach you the skills to play and enjoy your best golf for a lifetime.
