Join us at Bing Maloney for winter drop in clinics with David Gums. Each clinic you will receive individual attention to improve your game.
This clinic is designed to make it easy for you to get out of the sand in one shot, saving you countless strokes and frustration. Having a balanced setup and good rhythm producing a constant acceleration through the sand will be a big focus. Included is a total review of swing mechanics including posture, alignment, and rhythm. We will also learn how to hit sand shots from a wide variety of sand including wet sand, fluffy sand and no sand (compact soil).

Unlike most sports, the lower your score the better. Unfortunately it’s not uncommon to see amateur golf players to score over half of all total strokes in any given round with their putter. The number one way to lower your total score is to understand and apply basic putting fundamentals. We will start with a solid approach to reading greens as well as review all facets of putting to produce a reliable stroke that will hold up on the back 9 and will be the envy of your golf partners. I will also go over alignment, grips, and different types of putters during the clinic. By the end of the clinic I would like you to have gained confidence with a reliable putting stroke tailored to you. I hope by next round you attain your lowest golf score yet.
- Date/Time: Saturday November 29 from 1:00 – 2:00PM
- Location: Putting Green next to the Clubhouse
The driver is one of the most misunderstood clubs in the golf bag. There are a few basics that can completely change the way you drive your golf ball. Stance, posture, tee height and ball position effect the way you swing the longest club in your bag. I will focus individually on how to to add valuable yardage, accuracy, maximize speed, and proper balance. Based on your swing tempo, club head speed, and average total yardage distance measured I may suggest different lofts and shafts.

Chipping & Pitching
Honing in on your chipping fundamentals can quickly turn chipping into one of the best parts of your game. Improving the brush contact with the grass will be a center focus. We will review club selection strategy, posture, and ball placement to improve distance control and spin. I will also introduce different wedge types and bounce selection according to the length of grass, grain and distance of the golf shot.
