What is The First Tee?

Today’s article is written by Morton Golf’s Kelli Corlett, Kelli Corlett, Junior & Disabled Golf Program Director at Haggin Oaks.

The First Tee is a global organization that strives to teach today’s young people lifeskills through the game of golf.  The Greater Sacramento area has multiple opportunities for our youth to not only learn the game of golf, but to improve their skills and play competitively.

At both Haggin Oaks and Bing Maloney after school programs, Saturday classes, play leagues and summer camps are offered for juniors ages 5 to 17.  Participants will learn the fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and the full swing, as well as proper etiquette and have the opportunity to begin The First Tee certification process.  Ratios are kept small (5:1) so that children may learn in an environment in which they are comfortable.

For specific questions and for more information on signing up for a program, call the Haggin Oaks Appointment Office at 916-808-2531.
