Our own Tom Morton recently visited the KCRA studios to give his tips on how to improve your putting game. Click HERE to watch the video.

When buying a putter, spend some time trying them all out. There are many different hosel configurations on putters these days and you won’t know which you like best until you stand over them and try putting with them. At the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop, all of our putters are available for trial on our indoor putting green. Don’t be afraid to shop around to find the look and feel that suits you best.

Putters are also available in different lengths. There are “standard” putters, as well as long and belly putters.

Belly putters have been making quite a splash recently on tour and there is a lot of talk about if they should be legal or not. Have you ever asked yourself, “What is the advantage to using a belly putter?”

Well, according to Tom Morton, Director of Instruction for Morton Golf, “People don’t realize that the putting stroke is.. not a straight back and straight through [motion]… It actually has a bit of an arc to it. If we allow that putter to attach to our belly or our chest, you can just let [it] swing around that point.”

Give us your feedback: Do you think belly/long putters give players an unfair advantage?

Now if you want to improve your putting (and who doesn’t), Tom also offers some practical tips.
