Past Volunteer At William Land Golf Course GEORGE TINSETH 1931 – 2021

George A. Tinseth was born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1931 and worked his way to Sacramento, California where he passed away at the age of 90, Thanksgiving Day, 2021. George and his wife lived in the William Land Park neighborhood and made William Land Golf Course their Golf Club. George was not only on the Rules Committee for the NCGA, but he was the dream volunteer that the neighborhood golf course needed. On a daily basis George was at the golf course and knew everyone by name. He could give any player a ruling on the game and also when the Cook needed to step out George could jump behind the counter and prepare any food on the menu.

In 2017 William Land Golf Course expanded their patio at the Clubhouse and named it the GEORGE TINSETH PLAZA. At that time Morton Golf sold several bricks to give the patrons a permanent mark with their name engraved to this day.

George had many interests on and off the golf course. He was a Master Dominoes player and taught everyone in the family. He also loved Country Music and he and his son Gary had the opportunity to see Johnny Cash LIVE in concert.

On Wednesday, May 25th it was BIG GEORGE’s birthday. He would have been 91 years old.
His adult children, (Scott, Nancy, Gary & Ron) extended an invitation to anyone who knew George to stop by the patio at William Land GC and reminisce on what George meant to them.

We know BIG GEORGE is smiling down on us with his little laugh knowing we all remembered our friend George.
